New to Vanity Call Signs? Read our introduction to Vanity Call Signs
Anyone can change their call sign at any time! The format of the call sign you qualify for is determined by your license class. The higher your license class, the shorter the call sign you are able to obtain. Read more information in our Introduction to Vanity Call Signs.
The FCC permits licensed radio amateurs to choose their own call sign subject to certain standards. You can read about these standards in our Vanity FAQ section. There is no FCC regulatory fee to obtain
an Amateur Radio vanity call. As of September 3, 2015, the FCC discontinued collection of regulatory fees associated with filing a vanity application or renewal of a vanity (HV) license. Our application
processing fee is only $29.95.
All you do is select the call sign you want on the online
application. You can list several in order of preference in case your first choice is not available. We will electronically submit your application to the FCC along with all the required paperwork.
Filing the application and submitting the payment is a
multi-step, multi-form process. We do it ALL for you !
***Extra Class Applicants and applying for 1x2 and 2x1 call signs***
1x2 (K, N, or W followed by a numeral and two letters) and 2x1 (AA-AK, KA-KZ, WA-WZ and NA-NZ by one letter) are very RARE ...and in the case of some call areas, totally unavailable. As soon as one becomes available, many people apply for it, so there will always be competition for the 1x2 or 2x1 callsign(s) that you are requesting. It is a "lottery" of all applications filed on that first day of availability. There is no way to "guarantee" that you will win a callsign. Your chances will depend on how may other people file on the same day that we do. There is no refund if you loose your application due to competition. Please also keep in mind that if you give more than one call, they MUST become available on the same day to be filed together one application. If you give 4 calls available on 4 different dates, that is 4 applications at $29.95 each that you will need to enter separately through our site.
Your new call sign will appear on the online line databases at the FCC or other call sign look up services such as http://www.QRZ.com. When your new call is issued by the FCC your old
call sign is canceled and you will get a new "hard
copy" license about a week later.
Our filing service is fast and extremely easy to use and it takes less than 5 minutes to fill out the form !
